Chrisland defilement saga: How Mr Adenekan "put his mouth in my wee-wee"

Child X, the pupil allegedly defiled by Adegboyega Adenekan, a 47-year-old Chrisland School supervisor, on Thursday testified at an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence court in Lagos and confirmed that she was abused.

Child X, who is now four-years-old, was two years and 11-months at the time the alleged defilement occurred serially in 2016 at the Victoria Garden City (VGC) branch of the school.

The trial which was slated to begin at 2pm, due to other matters, did not start until 3.26pm. It ended at 5.53pm.

Before Child X’s testimony, Justice Sybil Nwaka, had ordered that members of the public vacate the public gallery of the courtroom. However, she allowed journalists and lawyers to witness the testimony.

The Chrisland School on Tuesday, sent emails to parents of their students, as the news of the defilement of a two-year and 11-month old female pupil, by the school’s supervisor went viral.

The story captured courtroom proceedings on Monday of the trial of Adegboyega Adenekan, the school’s supervisor, who allegedly defiled the female pupil.

A video of the pupil in which she narrated how she was allegedly and serially defiled by Adenekan, was played at an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court.

The mother of “Child X”, the 35-month-old Chrisland School pupil, allegedly defiled by Adegboyega Adenekan, a 47-year-old supervisor in the school, on Wednesday broke down in tears while giving evidence at an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court.

The mother (name withheld) in a lengthy four-hour testimony while being led in evidence by Mr Jide Boye, the Chief State Counsel, at the start of her evidence gave a narrative of how she knew the defendant.

“She was two years and 11 months old when she mentioned it to me, I do not know for how long it has happened before she mentioned it, she was in Pre-school Two at the time but she started the school from creche.

How A School Supervisor defiled a 35-month-old Pupil in Chrisland School

An ex-social worker, Miss Gloria Chinoyera, on Tuesday told the newly-inaugurated Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court how a two-year-old Chrisland School pupil was allegedly defiled by the  school supervisor.

The school supervisor, Adegboyega Adenekan, 47, is facing a charge of child defilement.

The prosecution alleged that Adenekan committed the offence sometime in November 2016 at Chrisland School, Victoria Garden City (VGC), Ajah, Lagos.

Chinoyera, a lawyer ,who has also undergone specialist training in social work and issues relating to children, was led in evidence by Mrs O. Akinsete, the prosecuting counsel.

France woos Nigerians to more English Language taught courses

The French Embassy in Nigeria on Wednesday enjoined Nigerians to avail themselves of the increasing English Language taught courses in different Universities in France.

The embassy gave the advice in a statement to announce the forthcoming 6th edition of the French Education Fair, scheduled to hold in Abuja on Feb.12 and Feb.14 in Lagos.

“The French Embassy remains committed to strengthening ties between France and Nigeria and education provides the perfect platform to do so.

“The French mission in Nigeria is also creating partnerships between Nigerian and French Institutions to encourage exchange in not just knowledge but in students and faculty.

“Many French Universities, through the development of English language programs, can now break the language barrier and accept more Nigerians to study a wide array of courses,’’ it said.
