BREAKING: Shake-Up in Nigerian Police As 21 States Get New Commissioners


The acting Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, has named and deployed new officers to 21 states as Commissioners of Police in the States. In the new appointment, Kayode Aderanti  replaces Umar Manko as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State.
 Manko was redeployed from the position after his elevation to  Assistant Inspector-General of Police.
 The appointment was announced in a statement signed by Emmanuel Ojukwu, the Force Public Relations Officer.
In his words, “the appointment followed the recommendation of the Commissioners to the Police Service Commission and its subsequent approval.”
The commissioners are:
